Ok heres an update,I bought a new 11" booster and master cylinder combo, came with a short rod and shallow depression in the master.Hooked it all up,bled it,had a perfect pedal with the car off.Started it and the pedal went soft,If I push the brakes fast(like when coming to a quick stop) I get a nice firm pedal and the brakes apply from the top(like any normal car).If I apply the brakes slow(like when easing to a stop) I get a pedal with no resistance and no stopping until I hit the end of the pedals travel.

Any suggestions? I need to get this car out of my dads garage ASAP.
    Thanks,
    Philip

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Bad new master...it is internally bypassing itself...get a new one from TRW/Moog/Raybestos.

This is the third master we've tried. One from autozone, one from oreilly, and one from cpp.All have the same problem,do you really think Ive had 3 bad masters? Could it possibly be a very small leak thats allowing air in but not allowing fluid to come out?
