My ex neighbor's dad ordered a 87 grand national in 1987, waited for months, and thought the car wasn't going to be made, so he went to another dealer and bought one off the lot. Two weeks later the dealer he ordered the orginal car from, called him his car was in... So he went and pickec it up... now he had one for him, and one for his wife... About a month goes by, and the dealer he ordered the orginal car from said "i HAVE A GNX... ARE YOU INTERESTED".. His reply was "yes, but you had better give me a good deal, not like on my grand national"....dealer sold him the gnx for $29,000...
he has sold one gn, still owns the other gn, and the gnx still has the orginal plastic covers on the seat...takes it out once in a while....maybee 1,000 miles on the car....

I was at the "Buicks at Bristol" event a few years back (2001, I believe) and a guy pulled up with a GNX on a trailer...The ONLY Bobby Labonte edition GNX!!! Had 13 miles on it, and was signed on the dash by Labonte...
Austingta, I know what you're saying...a car with technically 0 miles is a waste of a good car...Cars are meant to drive, not to collect dust and look at...If I had a GNX with 9 miles on it, I can guarantee it would have over 5,000 in the first year that I had it, that's 90% of the fun is driving it! :3gears: My wagon had 84,000 on it when I bought it back in 2001, it now has almost 140,000 on it, and I drive it daily, year round...(look at the pic, and you guys will see why I'm "crazy") Granted, a gnx with as much value as it has, would probly only be started and ran in the garage during the winter, but in most cases, I would drive almost anything year round...You're gonna die someday, so why not have a crapload of fun with what you got while you're alive?!?! Like they say, diffrent strokes for different folks, so some people like to watch their car collect dust, just not my idea of a good time...

That's the GM I remember from the 80's. "WE build NEW cars so if it is not going to be sold NEW then crush it!!!" Even if it only has 3,000 miles on it. And we wonder why they are in trouble. :Dou:

$2500 seems a tad low to me,but it was a specialty vehicle,so that's probably why.

i talked to a GM sales rep,and he told me the GN and those turbo T/A's were just showroom catcher cars, meant to get people in the door,so the dealer could sell them a car they could make a strong profit on.

i was selling Pontiacs for a little while in '88 in Alpheretta,Georgia. the markup was HUGE on Trans Ams,actually any Pontiac.i sold a 89 GTA Trans Am for $22k,and i believe the gross i made on the deal was over $3500,and that wasn't sticker, and i didn't make jack off the trade in.

the dealer i worked at had a turbo T/A in the showroom, and it gatherred dust.i believe the sticker was $29,990.nobody wanted to buy it,and nobody drove it because of the insurance regulations.
it got sold by another dealer, and it was driven to the other dealership by a delivery service, not hauled by a transporter.

I would say it is. Just how many GNX's would be out there with under 10 miles on it.

Yes, this is the same GNX. I don't understand it! The salesman made it pretty clear when we went there that it wasn't for sale and not to disclose where it was. So, I don't know, maybe the owner put it on just to see if he really would get that kind of money for it.

STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

I'm the current high bidder!

Ok okay so I'm not.Just always wanted to say that on something like this :Dou:

100k? Wonder if this is a buddy of the owner making that 1st bid?

I think I'd rather have 2 used ones for that kinda money, plus that isn't even the reserve yet  might be able to get 3 clean used ones before the reserve is met.

Imagine if you could have done the same thing back in 1970's and here you are in 2006 and you open the door to your garage for your visitors and there sit 3 1970 GSX's :TU:

That is a sweet GNX though.........................I'd only need to sell my house to buy it :pp

I hate to say it, but a car with 10 miles on it that's that old, I wouldn't want to take a chance on it (although I wouldn't mind having it). It'll be riddled with all kinds of problems if you start driving it any distance. I'd feel safer with something that had at least 20 or 30 thousand miles on it.
