does anyone know where to get one of these?i beleive the part that screws into the manifold is 1/8" and the part that takes the brake pipe is 3/8".i tried pep boys but they dont have it.
I posted the same question last week @ www.buickperformance.com Was directed to a hardware store. What you need is a 90 deg. brass fitting with 1/8" male threads one end & 3/8" inverted flare on the other. Local store had a bin full.
so far ive tried home depot, and sears hardware, and no luck,if anyone can get these please send me,i will pay for part and shipping!!!!
I usually find these locally at auto stores like Carquest. CHeck out item 149-6B-3 at the site below: http://www.fastenerhut.com/catalog/...40400&osCsid=0b3d45e918392aa655dc0bab70a1c4e6 Is this the item you need?
i have a 71 455 intake manifold,i believe the threads are 1/8" in the manifold,but i could be wrong,maybye 1/4" anybody?????????
I'll post a pic tomorrow on the piece I just bought. Looks similar to the one on the car but can't compare as car is away for storage. I have it on a spare intake & looks like it could work. I can get them by the box or by the " each".
if the piece is right and you can get it to me,then i would owe you one.every place i go doesnt carry anything smaller then 1/4".thanks ...............ed
We'll need a few opinions here. This is what I have but I'm not certain if it will work. Looks similar to the existing fitting on the car now. $ 1.42 Cdn. each.
Those fittings are made by Weatherhead. They're carried by many hardware, plumbing, and auto parts stores. Part number for 3/8" tube and a 1/8" NPT is 402x6x2.
Now that I see the right one, yes I agree I have the wrong one. I'll get one of these over the Winter.
dreeesh, what's your name and where are you located, maybe a fellow Buick Board Member that's close by can toss you their extra one!!!
hey george if you can get me one also i would be forever grateful.just let me know the cost,..........................ed
I know this is an old thread but thought I would throw an update out there. Best place for that weatherhead fitting is industrial supplies places, they are used on compressors and the like. Generally guys who sell that stuff will have weatherhead fittings. Couldn't find them at local plumbing or hardware stores, kind of an oddball now it seems. Anyway weatherhead 402X6X2 is a dead match for GM (might be 1/16" wider overall) piece. Also, Everco 400EE and Edelmann 122620 are the same item, although I have not seen them personally. Might give anyone searching a few options. :TU:
