Has anyone found a source for anything close to original for 72 455? I have a couple leads but no luck so far. Original p/n 1232085.

This one could be for sale as long as you can find me a good replacement:grin:

It's in very nice shape - currently on my LeSabre, original to the car. No cracks or rips at all, and the part number is perfectly clear.

That is a NICE tube, Adam. If I am not mistaken, that car is a 350. Same tube for big block? What about different years?

Added in edit: since Tim mentioned the same part number, I guess it is correct...
Need to find a way to "stamp" that on my Cars tube.

Adam, that is a very generous offer (thank you!) but if I had anything half decent I would have made it work already...Just want to get this thing running, details can be sorted out later.

1232085 fits (from GM parts manual circa 1976)

    70-71 8 cyl
    72 GS
    73-74 AD/-37/455 ENG

So cars has a repro? Is it decent quality? Those guys have burned me so many times I don't want to buy there anymore...

    Tim,
I have a '72 tube from a 350. I'll send it out if it will work as a stop-gap & get you on the road. # 1241105, excellent shape.
The tube on my '71 is actually from a mid-80's Cavalier. NAPA didn't have one so we went hunting thru the parts bins. Found a tube with the right shape/bend & cut off the excess.

The Cars tube is OK. No numbers on it though. Only option if you are stuck.
