    Hi everyone.

Finally picked up a new scanner and wanted to post a few things Rich (NvrDn) and I found when taking apart the 69. I bought it from a kid the next town over. He had someone install the 455 that knew what they were doing. :puzzled:

    First up engine mounts.

    Left side.

Notice the quality in the holes and the precision in alignment.

Of couse they didn't want to trouble themselves with using the existing frame holes, so they made their own. Luckily, those are the only holes and I can work around them with the correct pads and mounts. The engine was off center, with the rear of the trans ending up offset to the drivers side.

"Exhaust studs? We don't need no stinkin' studs, bolts are far easier to work with."

No wonder it had leaks, both side were like this.

Instead of running the bolt down through the existing hole for exhaust pipe hangers, they tack welded the bolts over the holes and so far away from where they ran the pipes, they never used them. The exhaust was supported at the front by the manifolds and at the rear of the frame with a long assed bolt clamped to the pipe and run through a hole by the bumper bracket.
