Anybody have strato bucket seats in A and B body cars-or know if the seats are the same or not? I've heard they are the same and also that say, seats in a '66 Wildcat are a bit wider (larger?) than a Skylark-thanks!

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

I know on the 68-72 models the full size use the same buckets but with different pedestals.

My '66 Chevelle SS/ Impalla restorer buddy is here...
To quote him, "lower seat foams (& sometimes the lwr springs) are typically wider in B series strato buckets. The upper (seat backs) should be the same. If one had the early A-body lwr spring assemblys & correct seat tracks, will be able to make the B series strato's into A-body strato's".

In the past, needing '66 model strato buckets for customers' '66 ImpallaSS projects, I've watched for & picked up '66 Eldo strato buckets, & changed the seat tracks to Impalla. The Caddy buckets were always easy to find, as Eldo's are expensive to restore & most went to the yards. All in all, using B series strato cores for reupholstering & use in a B series was easiast swap.

Thanks Roger-I figured there were differences other than vinyl pattern in my '66-7 vintage. The strange part is that Paddock shows the same replacement seat 'buns' for Impalas and the A body cars??-sourcing for the electras and cats is always more of a challenge!
