Im in the process of replacing my water pump and have reached a very stuck bolt. Its the smaller of the two sizes. I want to get some heli-coils anticipating the repair but don't know the size of the fastener and cant find it in the chassis manual. Would someone happen to know? My guess is 1/4-20. Not working on it on my own driveway so didn't think to grab one before leaving. Havent broken it yet, heat and prayers will be applied this evening.
If that is one of the bolt holes that is open on the other side, and IF it snaps off, I’d drill it out, then use a nut on the back side.
It is. That's the backup plan but im not great at drilling so id like to extract it if possible. Good call on back side and a nut. Didnt think of that
