    bump for progress?

looks like i may be stuffing a buick 350 in my toyota..as long as i find another 350 engine :) if so bye bye 4.3 aka craigslist lol

i'll be running 4.88s with 700r4 on 35x12.50s mounted on 15x8 cragar soft 8s...corrected ratio would be something like 3.94/2.76 and 2894/1973 rpms @ 60mph!

anyone know if a buick 350 will fit with manifolds. I might try this winter.

nope, it;ll interfer with the steering setup, looks at s10s with chevy v8s and toyotas with chevy v8s and both have a 1/4 inch or rom before it hits the steering rod..and buick 350s are an inch wider..
so you'd have to somehow offset the steering setup...you also might have to notch inner fender since steering shaft will be offset!

this is why i''m sticking with a chevy 4.3 in my yota instead of a buick 350

I have a sbc 350 in a 94 GMC Jimmy (last year of the square body for GMC) and I had to get the Hedman S-10 V-8 swap headers. I tried every exhaust manifold possible and nothing cleared the steering shaft. I"ve heard of someone installing a rack and pinion setup behind the cross member and swapping the spindles to make the tie rod ends face the rear. I don't have the specifics of the build, but I know it was done. I vaguely remember the steering shaft having 2 u-joints, barely clearing the manifold and pointing almost straight down to the rack and pinion.

I swapped a 350 Buick in a 88 Mazda B2200. Only clearance issue was on the passengers side fire wall to manifold. I had to slice it and beat it back. That and i had to run the E-fan as a pusher instead of a puller. I had less than 3/4" between the water pump and radiator. The truck weighed in at a little over 2800 pounds. Fun and fast. I'll dig up some old pics and post them up for you to see.

hmm the mazdaa/rangers must be a bit wider..or haver better placement of the steering shaft

i think a buick 300 will fit easier and weight less if you find a 64 model...or get the ta heads/intake when they come out 64 model is 405lbs while the 65-67s are 465 or so

oh and theres already turbo manifilds made for the 300/rovers via chevroletls1.com
retrotek for fuel injection if you want that

I bet zoomies would fit:Brow: Or some plated block huggers turned upwards with a couple of cherry bombs welded onto a reducer off the collecters, all pointed skyward! I'd drive it:3gears:

What is status of your 350 sbb in a S10?
I had one several years ago but, had to give it up to smog police.
Only problem was the steering shaft and exhaust needed to be in same spot.
I used 7 5/8 posi-rear with no problem, and right exhaust and starter were
    tight fit.
    Was surpise to some.

    alec296 i need another buick

An s10 with a decent 350 should run like 12s if it can get traction. Truck should be light
