Does anyone have an oil priming tool for the buick 350 (72 skylark) they are willing to part with? I know i can rig one with an old dizzy but first i wanted to see if anyone has one for sale. Thanks!!
I got a Chevy distributor from the junkyard, took out the stuff on top.use a half inch drill, done. You do have to take the gear out and maybe make the top smaller, but a grinder will work wonders.Bruno.
We made one from a large flat blade screwdriver with a socket welded to it to keep it centered on the oil pump shaft. Cut the handle off the screwdriver and stuck it in the cordless drill, good working primer for 5 minutes of work!
Cool. I'm looking to prime mine after it has sat for several months during all the transplant work. BTW, does you Harley Sprint SS have a windshield? I had one of those bikes back in 1972. Black and cream. I sold it after one too many a person tried to kill me on the LA freeways.
I went ahead and bought one from ta. 25 bucks. Ill keep ya posted on the quality. I love supporting buick part dealers anyways. Thanks everyone for your input.
Like Bruno, however, I purchased an old buick distributor (350) at a swap meet and removed all the old unnecessary pieces. I had a friend weld a 5/16" bolt (cut the head off) to the distrib shaft top end. Voila, a priming tool. cost $10.
