For sale is machine shop fresh 455 .030 over. Pistons are nothing fancy as this motor was never ment as full race setup. Piston number is 392AP. These are just cast pistons, i think they are 23cc dish. After the block was decked piston sits about .050 down in the hole. Rods were resized with APR bolts installed. Crank was resized, new mains, rods, rings, cam bearings.

Short block is assembled ready for the rest of assembly.....................sold...................

Heads are 70 casting, has brand new stage 1 stainless valves, fresh valve, job, lots of port work, TA springs rated to .575 lift. Heads were 69cc as cast and have been resurfaced and are now 67cc. Heads have been 10.90s on our 3850 pound car with 464, no power adders.................sold.......... ...

These heads on this block with .027 gaskets will net just over 9.5 compression, still pump gas friendly. I ran a combo just like this year's ago in our car with a small .500 custom crowler cam, 4000 stall, 1000hp holley, and 4.1 gears and went 11.30s

Got new stage 2 heads, was going to put this together as a street motor but need to sell to help pay for our new race motor build, and updates to the car.

May be willing to seperate but won't sell the heads alone before the short block sells. Asking 3000, no shipping, but willing to work with your shipper or meet if needed. Feel free to ask any questions

Shelby ohio, hugger I would prefer to sell as package at this time, but if someone wanted only the heads I would do an even split at 1500 for the short block, 1500 for the heads

If I looked things up correctly it's a 74, you can tell from the larger coolant ovals and the double humps at the top of the deck surface before going into the lifter valley, right between 4 and 6, and between 3 and 5, that the block is at least a 73, that's when the added the extra coolant hole in the heads and they added the second pad on the deck surface to seal it against. That means it also should have the lager oIL passages as well.

Looking at the lifter holes, there appears to very, very, little core shift.

Curious... with a 73/74 block, is there any change to front cover from 70-72? noob here.

I know the earlier covers will work on the later motors, I know the oil pick up passage in the block is larger than say the 70s, but I can't say if the passage in the cover are the same size or not between years. I think all will agree the factory passages in any and all covers has room for improvement.

Chris if you want to pm an offer it can't hurt, I will think it over, but with about 2000 in reciepts for the short block, almost 500 in parts in the heads for the valves, spring, retainers, and locks, 1500 in the port work, plus the value of the heads themself. That's over 4000 to do it yourself at least. Plus 6 month to year wait to have a shop get through it.

Heads are also proven runners, have run 10.90s. I know in my car, I could but my crowler cam in, sp1 ported intake, 1000 cfm holley, 4500 stall, 4.10, and run 11.3s. I would guses in strip trim, with some cheater slicks or sticky street radials, a 3.40 gear, 800 holley, 2500 stall should be able to see high 11 with same cam, buts it's an aggressive cam with only .500 lift, it won't run pb, only makes 7 inches at idle.

intake ports that were checked I believe flow in 250 area, exhaust are in the low 200s. I have the paper in my shop but won't be there for a few days, but those numbers are close

Have any coolant or oil passages been modified from the '70 configuration other than the valve work? I have a '70 block?

Bump, had several questions, I would prefer, as anyone would, to sell as a package. But I will do an even split 1500 fot the short block, 1500 for the heads.

I'm adding the picture of the receipt I have, I know it will be hard to read but it's the best I can do
