If you know someone that needs a great Buick 462 "short block", let me know. It has Hyperutectic pistons in it, but, if whomever buys it doesnt plan on using nitrous or a supercharger with it, it'll last forever. Its a 1970 block with all the oiling passages modifications and TA grooved cam bearings, zero decked (with a 68 cc head, the compression should be in the 10.15 to 1 range with 25cc piston and .038 gasket), balanced assembly, stock 1970 timing cover but with ALL the good TA parts in it, 6 qt. TA oil pan and pickup, Stage 1 mechanical fuel pump, new TA stock type balancer, new short water pump, nice hydraulic TA 286-04H custom ground camshaft (234/252 at .050" .504/.504 lift @ 1.6 (.315/.315 lobes) 113* LS advanced 4* for a 109 LC), Cloyes true roller timing chain, ARP Fasteners. This thing revs so fast that you cant imagine (it will out rev a MSD 6AL box with rev limiter! NO JOKE!). Estimated HP should be somewhere around 500 or so (but never dynoed). Idles with about 25 PSI oil pressure warm and cruises with about 60 psi warm. No odometer in my little truck, but I know it has less than 1500 miles on it. I'm gonna keep all of the top end, headers, distributor and accessories and brackets and such. Runs great! Only selling it due to building a blower motor for the little truck and I cant use this short block with the blower due to the hyperutectic pistons and higher compression. $4,000.00 Jim Howard Dayton TN. 423-570-2984 home evenings (Please... I dont need to sell it, so, no offensive offers! This is a very nice short block!) I hate to part with it, but I just cant bare to see it just sitting in the corner, covered up.

I hope that I'm not violating club policy by posting this, but, if your interested in viewing the buildup photo's, you can go to my F&cEB@@k page at James L. Howard Jr. and view my Model T photo album.

NOTE: For looks in my little rat rod truck (see avatar photo), I have it topped with a 2x4 intake and small Holleys which really hinders its hp output. But! If you were to top this thing with a decent set of heads, a SP 1 intake and a "tuned" 1000 cfm Holley carb, install a good ignition system of your choice and tune on it a little, this motor will amaze ya! This thing will hit 6200 RPM before you can even begin to realize that its spinning that fast! It will turn up so fast that when my 5800 rpm chip in the rev limiter starts working and I look at the tach, its coming down to 6000 rpm's !!!! ...and yes... my MSD box works just fine!

Will entertain offers for complete motor, as is, running and ready to go. I can crank it for you but I cant just let it run as I've started pulling my little truck apart to get ready for the blower project. No radiator in the truck as of now, so no cooling!
