Any 80W/90 Gear oil, I use Valvoline. Buy 2 quarts. GM Posi additive, part # 1052358 available at any GM dealer, or online http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.m...ategory_Code=REARENDDRIVELINE&Store_Code=Nova http://paceperformance.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=29478
Thank you gentlemen, if I can squeeze some time in before it starts getting cold I'm going to try to get it in, I'm anxious to see how it'll perform over the one that's in there. Is there a break in period, that I should do before really getting into it. Also to freshen it up is really the only thing I should do is change the oil?
Just bolt it in and do some slow speed left & right turns to get the new fluid mixed up and into the clutches. Then beat the hell out of it. Devon
I think it takes two quarts, but it's always a good feeling to know it's topped off, I'd say buy three.
Nope, 2 is plenty. 4.5 - 5.5 pints. That is what the chassis manual says. Proper fill is until it dribbles back out. Mine always takes 1 quart and a bit more of the 2nd.
Lot's of people never changed the fluid. It went for the life of the car, and everything was fine. I like to change mine every year. Bet you I could go longer with no problem.
