Hello everyone I was reluctant enough to come across a reasonably priced posi unit . So once I got it I pulled the cover off to see what type of gear ratio I had in there, so i ended up draining the fluid. Now money has become tight and it's hard for me to even come up with money to refill the rearend and replace the gasket. How damaging would it be for this rearend to sit without any fluid in it? Please let me know asap. thanks fatboybuick
Just throw any oil in the rear. Motor oil etc. Will protect your investment. Then seal it up...Even over fill some because the fluid will leave parts unprotected over time. If you can remember to spin the rear at least once or twice a year on full revolution. It will be fine. Jim:TU:
