Something gives me the feeling that that mirror is for big cars.

But, did it come from a "big" car or an "A" body? The part numbers are different. If the part numbers are different, than the part is in some way different. The mirror looks very nice.

so what is the correct part number for a driver's side 1970 GS remote tri-shield mirror? I have one lying around -- that is, if it aint a big car unit. It came on my 69 -- obviously incorrect.

    mirror

    Dan,

I wasn't trying to maraude your thread/auction. I did a little checkin' and I found that the mirrors(chrome) are the same for all '70 models except Riviera. Pt. number is 981639. I doubt the number cast into the part is the same as on the box it came in, but, it may be.

Matt, Dan, Chris, anybody - so will this mirror work on a 70 GS or not? I read the above to say big cars and A bodies had different mirrors, and another opinion is that they are all the same except Riv????

The big body mirrors are thicker, and this mirror is the big one. The A-body mirrors have a little bit of a taper to the top of them, they are noticably thinner. It would work, just not look correct. :TU:

    Bill,

This is not my "opinion" - rather - what's spelled out in part book.
It lists the number I posted as '70 All except 9000 series.
