Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale Not mine http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other...tr=true&hash=item1ea39ccf65&item=131593981797
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale Very nice GSX , but the 6 has to goooooooooooooooo!!!!! Not in the GSX image Bill
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale One minute I like it, next minute I hate it! It is in great condition and has to be last one alive. Put a six banger in it and call it a "GSX"?! Wonder how many were made? Has to be product of the severe gas crunch in the 70s. A real example of the death of "muscle" cars!
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale Exactly what I was thinkin'! You would think that they would have required, at least, a 350 V8 for a GSX model. I never knew Apollos' were available with 6's. I thought they ALL had 350s'.
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale Sport mirrors, stickers, buckets and body side moldings for 71 bucks. Not sure whether I'd have forked it over.
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale Hey, ultimately the GSX was just an appearance package that was available on plenty of base engine cars....and subject to taste. Personally, I like the car a lot.
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale That is a very clean one. Drove mine for a few years to work in exact same configuration. Then it got boring. But all the hard to find items on this one appear from the video to be in great shape. I like it, a lot.
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale I like it! But I would like it more with a 455! I do think the price is kinda high...
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale The car was on craigslist 2 weeks ago in MN at $6500 and is not a barn find. The previous owner has/had the build sheet for the car, and it was in fact ordered with a inline 6 motor
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale I had an Apollo GSX with a Buick 350 engine and T-350 Transmission but with hatchback in red with red interior. Like this one a lot! Since it has a Chevy 6 cylinder engine I would pull it and replace it with a Chevy 383 motor, just because it had a Chevy engine in it already! George
This looks to be a very nice car but why did Buick ever install an inline 6 and call it a GSX. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other...tr=true&hash=item1ea39ccf65&item=131593981797 You don't see these very often.
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale Nice looking little car, but GSX without Buick power seems strange. Though a 250 Cu In Chevy can be made to move out pretty well, and get good mileage, to boot. FWIW, I saw a '70 Camaro SS with all kinds of goodies, including AC, with a 6, in 1970.
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale Nope. First available (the second time around..) starting in 1974. The tooling was bought back from AMC in the 1974 timeframe but it was first re-introduced for the 1975 model year.
I'm sorry, but having flogged big "real" Buicks for most of my life, there is just something inherently wrong with this badge-engineered warmed over Nova. And with that crappy, horrible excuse for a motor mated up with an automatic (I've had the displeasure of owning a couple in my salad days on some clapped-out Chevys) that just makes all that much worse. It hasn't got enough power to get out of it's own way and it isn't that hot on fuel; - but leak, damn, that's one thing those boat anchors do with incredible efficiency. At least the Apollo with the 350 SBB was at least sort of a Buick, but this...It's the reason why GM eventually went under, the rot started there when they slipped off Sloan's Dictum, "A unique car for every market". My apologies to you Apollo guys, I know you're probably as passionate about them as I am on Wildcats and Electras, but to a lot of Big Buick aficionados, "Apollo" was just the shortened form of "appalling", and this one takes the cake. This one is pretty and belongs in a museum, but it's still a crap car though.
That dealership in Mankato is still around, but now known as Snell Motors. I worked across the street from it in the 80's. At that time it was known as Brakke-Snell Motors.
Re: Nice 6 Cyl. GSX for sale It was also previously on Cars.com, I emailed a link to Jan as he is looking for an Apollo, and I thought 6500 was a fair price for a GSX that he would probably end up putting a big block in anyway.
