I see that if you put another kind of an engine in a Buick looks like you are on the OUTSIDE. If I had a Buick in Chevy S10 would that get me IN ? 1970 Stage 1 455. This was quite a project but no real major problems. 12.1 @ 113 60 foot 1.6s I will write a installation discription and some more pix if someone is interested. Ron J
Your IN! I would like a detailed description of the install if you are interested in posting it. My son's S10 is screaming for a a Buick heart transplant. The Chevy Heartbeat with a Buick Pacemaker!
welcome to the club ron. i've got a BBB in a '84 chebby truck. i've wondered if one would fit in an S-10. you seem to have the header problems fixed, and it looks great. i've got a '71 electra motor in a '84 chebby truck. i got lucky and made the hooker super comp. headers fit my application. it's fun to see other guys scratch their heads when they see it  . the only mods to the motor are hooker super comp headers, B4B intake, holley 850 dp, and an old crane cam i bought from J.C. Whitney back in 1988. so far with micket thompson et streets, the best 60' time is 1.68, the best 1/8 mile is 7.71, and the best 1/4 mile is 12.28 @104 mph. my shift point is 5200 rpm (after all this motor is almost 34 years old) it's been a lot of fun making this thing do what it's not supposed to (especially in a truck). it just kills the SBC guys at the track :3gears: . feel free to pm me or email me to talk more. i'm just glad to not be the only one here trying this.
Your in here but,I bet you wouldn't be welcomed at a Chevy site with that motor. That is a nice job you did.Very cool.
there was mid 80s chevy truck i think that had a 455 and a minnie blower. it ran like low 12 to high 11's. bob
