There's a 65 or 66 Buick LeSabre 400 4 dr hardtop in the pick a part at 184th and the Yellowhead in Edmonton, Alberta. Most everything is still there. It has a tilt column, reverb etc. The rear end is still in the car, with another in the trunk. Engine is there minus the carb. They turn them over pretty quick in this yard, so it may last a week before it's crushed.

Why the hell didn't I see this before?!

Thanks for the info; - I'll go and check it out, I'm only a 1/2 hour away from there.

    That'll have the ST400 trans with a switch-pitch converter. Will fit V6-300-340-400-455.
Rear should be an 8.2 incher, same internals as Skylark.

got the last wheel well molding today.grabbed the rear defrost, but need to see if it still works (not siezed). someone already grabbed the dash switch so didn't get that.some butthead damaged the top collar on the tilt column to remove steering wheel.got a couple nice wiper arms.
1/2 price sale this weekend.might still try for the trans.

Was out today and had a look at the car. Body was ok, front bumper and grill in not bad shape for the year; easily salvagable by anyone who can work pot metal...

It USED to have a 340. Talked to the guy who was taking it out. Turns out I know him. Rusty Petrovic aka the Carburetor Doctor out in Stoney Plain. Collects Buick engines, go figure. Anyway, this one was seized. It has rocks in the intake manifold, but Rusty is bound and determined to make it work. The rest of the car was a mouse haven so there's nothing really worth salvaging inside. Good for metal panels and doors but that's about it.
Anyway, the trans is still there - a super turbine 400. Forgot to check the diff, but it's probably a standard ratio open.

Ken; Have you ever been out to Aldon's Auto in Lamont? There are a few big Buicks (including my old 67 LeSabre, after the guy I sold it to wrecked it) out there; I haven't picked the whole yard out yet. There's a 66 LeSabre out there that has a few bits left on it, red interior, black exterior, plus a couple of 65 LeSabre convertibles that have been there since I started going out there in 1980. They've still got the largest selection of 1952-1976 big Buicks around. Some are picked to death, and most were "farmer cars", with no options except a steering wheel. Send me a PM and I'll fill you in on what's out there.

Allan R. So what ever did happen to the Carburetor Doctor? Is Rusty still in business? Does he finally want to part with that '67 Rivi he's been holding on to? Website and phone are dead; - do you have any contact info for him? A couple of buddies of mine were looking for him; - and I have a brand new still-in-the-original-box Carter for my '46 that needs modernizing...

There are wrecking yards in Alberta with Buick parts??? Im looking for trim and bumpers for my 67 Special and I wouldn't mind the drive out there to get decent stuff. What does this place your talking about have for that vintage and bodystyle?

    thanks, Joe

Joe.this one is part of the pick-n-pull chain.only get the odd older car now & they usually don't last long.there is also Bucks Auto parts on the east end of Edmontin that is self-serve.they have a vintage section that they don't crush.currently has a 68 lesabre & 69 wildcat.
you have a pick-n-pull in Kelowna.you can also contact
"cole" (his user name here) on this board.he is around Kamloops area & usually has parts for sale.
i do have a couple 67 skylark parts myself.what trim parts do you need?

Yeah I'm on the fence with pick n pull. The one in Kelowna has never had anything old when I've been there. Try to make it there regularly just to watch. They do have a 60 Impala I believe.

Ill message Cole and see what he has around.

I am looking for a rear bumper thats worth re chroming. both rear wheel well mouldings.
I don't know if the skylark is the same as a special in the side trim department but i need the spear tip that is on the rear quarter for both sides. I am missing one and the one i have has been squished. Its about an 1" tapering to 1/2" over about 6-7". oh and the buick letters for the hood, but those are easy enough to find. Other than that I think im set. oh, haha a 4 barrel for a 300 thats not in florida!!! lol!

sorry for derailing this guys!:Do No:

    Thanks

I was at the Kelowna pick-n-pull today, and there weren't any old Buicks that I remember. I'm going back tomorrow, and will have a better look.

I havnt been for a month or two now, but they sure dont seem to get a lot of old stuff. unless you want old chevy or old ford truck parts, then they got you covered. Buddy always goes for sprint parts, only way to keep them running!

You might want to phone Aldon's Auto in Lamont, they might have one, I'm not sure though, I know they've got a couple of mid-sixties 'Larks out there, but I can't remember the years.
