Back if January I found a set of 4 buick 14X6 rally wheels on CL for $75:beer They where a bit rough but I could fix that. The two PICs are before and after a few minutes of sandblasting and whire wheel work. These wheels will never be show quality but at $75 they will look a lot better than the hubcaps that are on the car in my avatar.
Lookin good. Mask em off and paint em with some semi gloss engine enamel, for about 10 more bucks youll make em some 10 footers.
I would hit them with a can of primer and maybe a little bit of sanding before you paint them. They'll really pop then. I like the gloss black idea. :TU:
After looking at the "after" pic, Im pretty sure that the backside of the wheel. Its weird, its sort of an optical illusion. You cant tell if the center is pointing towards you or away from you
The pics are of the back side, but I agree it is hard to tell. I read Georges (Buick Performance) thread on reconditioning wheels and his sugestion was to use gloss black because after a short time they will look semi-gloss.
Those ralleys will really change the look of your car from the hub caps. I too scored a set of ralleys over winter from a guy in Burnsville, but I got a set of 15x7's . So now I can fit disc brakes.
Nice score i got the same kind of deal last year but mine were peeling on the chrome area so i had them blasted then i wet sanded, steel wooled, primed painted and sealed them it will totally change the look of your car here is the thread i did on mine a while back http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=201620&highlight=honest+opinion
