I bought some wheels recently, but they did not have any center caps. I am trying to find some now, and I've been told it might be difficult. Anyways, I found some on ebay, and it says for a 72+ Does it really matter? I think the wheels I got are 70, but they are not here yet. Thanks
Search the board for Mitch Romanowski. He repops all years, Skylark, Wildcat and Riviera and they are very nice. Plus they fasten from the back side of the wheel so they can't fall off or get stolen. Cheers, Brian
I am assuming you are putting these on your 69 Skylark? The 72 and up center caps will fit fine on the wheels you are buying, they just will not be "correct" for a 69. 69's came with a ribbed center cap with a black tri-shield center. The 72 and up center caps are smooth with a black tri-shield center, and are easier to find and less expensive. You can usually find a decent set of used ribbed caps for $75-100, or you can buy new ones for around $200 from Year One, OPGI, etc. Or contact Mitch directly, as he is the one who reproduces them. I just bought a set of 70 caps from Mitch, they're shipped, should be here next week.. Cant wait! If you email him he'll send you a order form with pictures. The 1970 caps were nicely priced at $160 for the set of 4. And these are die-cast, not plastic
Mitch is "Mitchr" on V8. His caps are absolutely beautiful, and they have a security feature to them, so they cannot be stolen without removing the wheels.
CARS carries the correct caps and I bought a set last year for 145.00 from them after trying to find a set here used.
here is a link to them now 150 http://www.oldbuickparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=38_52&products_id=8011
Looks like CARS sells most of the older Buick Rally's and center caps: http://www.oldbuickparts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=38_52_604
Picked up my new rubber and wheels yesterday, when the caps from Mitch get here this week, I'll update with pix
