I bought this piece for my Buick but it is not correct for my year - I think it might be for the 1969 Buicks but please check to make sure. This readio bezel is rechromed and repainted - it is in show condition. I'm selling it here first before putting it on ebay - I'm asking what I paid for it $70 - and I'll do free shipping in the U.S.
I don't know about chrome on 68/69 pieces. I thought they were painted only. I had an NOS one but sold it a year ago. I think it was all paint?
>>Hi Lee, The only difference I noticed was that the lettering "Volume" and "Selector" are embossed on the rechromed radio bezel I have and on my '72 the words are flat.
No longer for sale - I found the correct rechromed bezel from a board member and I'm returning this one to the vendor for a refund.
>>Hi David, I'm not sure about the 68/69s but I know the 1970-72s had chrome plated radio bezels (this was how my former original '71 and my current '72 radio bezels are - I would think the '70 is the same way).
Im almost positive that was a 68-69 bezel that was chromed and painted like a 70-72. In order to use it in a 70-72, you would need to sand the lettering flat and apply the woodgrain to it. No one would know
in 68/69 they chromed both the radio and dash bezels ... and then painted over everything except the very thin reveal piping that goes around the edges. If you look on the back side of either the radio or dash bezels they are totally chrome.
