SCROLL DOWN TO SEE A MUCH BETTER IMAGE! This article if from the August 1954 issue of Motor Trend. I didn't know about this article when I bought the magazine, but whet a bonus! Just goes to show that 50 years ago Buick was performance king. Enjoy! Harvey
Page 2...If these aren't readable I have a PDF file that I will email you. Send me an email exner@shaw.ca and I'll send to you if you are interested. Harvey
The Rumor is, that Shelby wanted a Buick motor for the Cobra, becuse the Buick mill was powerful and light, but couldn't seal the deal. :3gears:
Harvey, Can you mail me the 2 pages, not in a PDF file, but as 2 seperate scans ? That way I can post them in this topic in a better size.
Did you know that the Land Rover uses a Buick motor. I think it was the Aluminum engine if i'm not mistaken. Somebody must know what size engine the aluminum motor was. I'm having a brain fart right now.
These are jpg's and are the largest size that the board will permit. However, I'll send you the original sized jpg's. Hopefully you can get a better image. Harvey
That's the old Rover 3500 engine, used for decades in the Land Rover, Range Rover and old and new style Rover 3500 passenger cars. Last year they dropped the engine, I think because Ford owns the Rover group now. (But the latest Range Rovers have a BMW engine, because Ford bought Rover from BMW.... ) 3500 (CC) x 0.061 = 213.5 CI, so this was the old alu 215 CI engine, produced by Buick in 1961-1963. There are tons of performance parts for these engines for sale here in Europe. Wish they have that for the big blocks as well......
