Not sure what the logic is in going to a pay model. I understand if you aren't making money it is just a hobby but I'm not paying either. Too much other content that is free. I'm digging this tavarish guy on you tube. Not Buicks but he does some wild stuff with minimal tools. He is doing a Lamborghini spyder that he and his welder friend did up a twin turbo setup. All in his residential garage. When he got it.

I like frieburger and his other guy and hope they are able to keep it going. But the other side of that is the hoonigan that is free and quite entertaining.
I'm kinda a closet vw bug guy but I don't have one.

You do not have to pay to use MTOD, you just won’t see the “newest” stuff for a month still. They got away from the YouTube format because it wasn’t making them money anymore due to how they changed their payment on video watches.

I put an antenna in the garage loft which pulls in free HD digital signals for the major networks and gets me local news and weather.

For everything else I have Amazon Prime and subscribe to MTOD through that along with Showtime. Netflix adds another huge library of on demand entertainment.

Total cost of internet plus subscriptions is still way less than having internet and cable TV with hundreds of channels I'd never watch.

MTOD - They have the best car related shows (in my opinion) compared to everything else out there so it's worth the $5 a month.

They should say that it is free. I'd never even think of trying it but because you say I can get the content I will make a swing or two through there. I'm as much a car guy as anyone but that also equates to me being limited in my funding. Five bux is five bux and I'd rather put it into the gas tank and go to a car event than sit at the house and watch it on a screen.

We do the Netflix because it comes free with the phone subscription we have. I like to watch the YouTube on the roku. Mtod should figure out how to get on there, or I need to figure it out.

Depending on your phone, you can cast from the MTOD app to a smart tv, chromecast or Roku. Then you can use the app to control it.

That recent Hoonigan video with the 51 shoebox Ford and rainbow tires was pretty gnarly! But generally I cant watch that channel. Check out this kid "four speed films". Hes only 18 and just starting out but I think he has a lot of potential.

While some content on MTOD is still free (roadkill, hot rod garage) roadkill garage is only available with a subscription.

I have not had cable in 2 years. I use Netflix, Hulu Live (50 live tv channels with DVR capability and most major sports), Amazon Video, Youtube and Motor Trend on Demand. Less than $60 a month for way more than I'll ever watch.

Fyi, you can have up to 3 devices using a paid subscription of MTOD so you could always split it with some friends if $5 a month is too much.
