Was planning on making a trip to some favorite junkyards soon. Seems one very good one is up for sale and crushing cars daily. Check out the restorable cars and parts cars links at Richard's Auto Salvage in North Carolina. Some early stuff there, and I noticed one '68 Riveria listed. Phone and fax numbers are listed on the web-site.
Check out the 55' Roadmaster they have there. Definetely unique! They got a 1972 Buick Riviera there too. :Brow:
I amazes me that any of our cars look as good as they do when you look at one that is in original, uncared for condition, like the 68 Riv in this yard. Frank
I went to Richard's several times while working on my Chevelle. His lot was organized into sections by brand, and he had a good selection. His prices, however, were hard on the wallet.
I agree about Richard's prices. Do you know if Bingham's (not far from Richard's, where the Mustang sits on a 50 ft. pole) has anything left?
I haven't been to Richard's in at least two years, but I plan to make a trip next month. I don't remember seeing a Rustang on a pole anywhere. Is Bingham's east or west of Richard's? I normally come in from 220.
I usually come down (south) on Rt.52. Left (east) on on Rt.49. Bingham's is a few miles before Richard's from this direction. Bingham's didn't have as much stuff, but his prices were better. I bought all 4 wheels that are on my car there. Only paid $100 for the set.
I went to Richard's a couple of weeks ago. His old car selection does not appear to have increased in the last couple of years, but he does have several 50's and 60's vintage buicks, including a 64(?) Special wagon with all their chrome trim. He also has a 58 wagon complete for sale. The yard is not closing, as the web site said, but it is for sale. And yes, his prices are still high.
