I'd like to let everyone on the board know that buicksstage1 aka. Chris Skaling is the best in the west when it comes to Buick Big Blocks. I went to Chris for help in making my 71 GS a little faster for this years race season. I had a TA prepped very mild Stage 2 engine and wasn't getting the performance. I thought it should have a bit more to it than it did. Anyway Chris immediatly told me #1. PORT THOSE HEADS!! I took them to him and he had his man flow test them and port them. Flow test again and picked up about 65 CFM on the intake and I believe if memory serves me about 40CFM on the Exhaust. We went to the new style SP1 intake, 1000cfm holley fed by a holley blue electric fuel pump and the transmission was strengthened and rebuilt. This was enough to knock off 6 tenths in the quarter and at our 2600 foot track here in Alberta It ran 11.77 at 114 MPH. Chris has been every bit the consumate Buick Guru, taught me lots and has been very easy to talk with and contact. (We live a 9 hour drive and 2 hour ferry ride away). I don't know how much work he's taking on these days, but I'd recommend that anyone in Western Canada or the Pacific Northwest who wants a performance BBB better contact Chris.
