Ive decided on a direction for my 455 build. Its a 73 455, and I have a set of 72 big valve heads I will be using. I want it to be a street cruiser engine, running on 87 all the time. I will be using a mild Comp 260 camshaft and lifters. Dual plane intake (AL if I find one cheap - otherwise stock) I have a MSD ignition I will be running with a timing retard box. Edelbrock nitrous plate system 50-100 shot for when I want to go faster. I will run headers if I can find a set cheap, or Manifolds (ported) if I have clearance issues. I dont have a car yet (or the cash to buy one) but its in the works. I am liking the 64-65 skylark style, and also have been admiring the style of 55-57 and 1960 cars. We will see. Anyhow I will update this thread as the build progresses. Its good to have something to work on over the winter........
Cool. Should be fun. I posted a few 65 larks in the car for sale leads. There in Texas so they could be around a while. Good luck with it.
You know I like the 65 Skylarks, but I don't know if you've seen that turquoise 63 Lesabre post coupe around CT. It's got blackwalls, wide steelies and small caps. Never seen the hood up, but it sure would be nice with a 455 and TH400. Makes me think twice about a 63-64 post coupe.
Theres a guy with an early 60s Lesabre thats brownish with a white top nearby. Has lots of spider/skull items inside. The toys aside, that car has TONS of style. I have definitely been looking.
