I am looking for a High Quality Plating shop. The guys up here in Grafton, Ohio cannot touch it until Jan. I need it done by mid Nov.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    John,

Not to Hyjack your thread  but, who do you use in Grafton and what do they charge? I'd like to find someone local to save on the shipping. I don't need a show quality just a good rechrome for my from and rear bumper on my 70 GS.

    Thanks
    Matt

CCP, they are not cheap. They do a great job. Different levels of finish.

High Quality is severely subjective from person to person.

If you are REALLY looking for high quality then (I hear) Pauls Chrome Plating will do a great job for about $1,500.

If you are looking for prices from this planet that are beautiful to 99% of all human beings except the clinically anal, then I recommend Tri City plating in Tennessee. Either of these institutions can be easily Googled.

    TriCity gets my vote.

As good or better than GM NOS.

Pauls bumpers are too nice for most cars.

These guys http://keystone-auto.com/contact.html get my vote. Both front and rear bumpers on my 70 were done by them and I've seen none better @ any of the dozens of car shows I've attended. Tri City was not as good IMO. They used to be called North Star Plating but they are owned by Keystone now.

Depending on distance, you can also speak to B&L Plating. I used them in the mid '80's for Corvette show car bumpers and die cast metal. Expensive, but stunning.

I just talked with Scott x 213 at Keystone Automotive Industries Cleveland/Akron, Ohio. For my 70GS I was quoted $438 for the front bumper and $438 for the rear bumper. And yes, no shipping:Brow:

Current lead time is 10-12 weeks but he said that goes down during the winter to 6-8 weeks:Do No: I'm going to finish out the summer cruising and then bring them my bumpers. There chromer is in Minnesota.

Oh, did I mention that there is a lifetime warranty for their work too!

Tri-City Plating in Elizabethton, TN just finished the front bumper on my '72 GS for $450. The bumper was already perfectly straight with one minor dent. The quality of the work exceeds original quality and suits me fine for my "driver" (I am very picky). I have also had work done by Advanced in Nashville and they do good work but are usually pretty slow.

Superior Plating in Pomona, CA. (909)622-2519. Don't know how long they would take but their quality is very good and they quoted me $225.00 for my 75 Regal rear bumper.
    Good luck, Mario.

I don't know, but it seems like to me our members in the midwest are getting stiffed on chrome. I had my front and rear bumpers done on my 68 gs 300 each with repair work done to it. The bumpers look better than new and were done in 3 weeks.
I know the price of nickel, and copper have gone up, but anything over $600 per sounds like you need to bring some KY with you to your chromers.
