Have any of you bought one of those Caddy CTS-V's yet? I'm trying real hard not to go drive one. It's pretty much the last thing I need right now but I'm having visions of a Black on Black 6 speed Caddy sitting next to my GS in the garage.:Brow:

I hear ya, I wasn't really a fan of the regular CTS but once I saw the V in Black I was hooked.

The only reason I haven't bought one is that they seem to be having some problems with some of the sensors and there is some question that the HP figures are inflated. I figure by the time the 2006 model comes out they should have everything worked out.

I wonder if Buicklawyer has experienced any problems??

It is a 2005 which just came out and he has only owned it a week. I thought he said it has the Z06 powerplant. I think it says LS6 on the engine. He has owned more than 100 muscle cars so he can give you a good comparison of whether it is fast plus it has electronic traction control.

You are correct on the Z06 motor Jim....From what I've been able to pick up on the CTS boards they are running real close to the 4.6 0-60 or better. There have been complaints about the Rearend's letting go as well.

I was surprised that they are a little bigger inside than our 5-series and plenty comfortable...The 6 speed is a plus (the wife can't drive a manual)

"Sorry sweetheart, they only come in a 6 spd :moonu: " Darn!!

I think the rear ratio is 3.73.

I have a Copper colered 2003 CTS and I couldn't be happier with it. The 3.2 with a 5 speed auto is a good running setup and gas mileage is pretty good as far as I'm concerned. I'm very happy with it!

I like hearing good reviews, I would hate to pay that much for something then have problems with it.

Rick, is there anything you don't like about the CTS?

Can't think of anything bad to say. I have kids with the cream colored interior. Never had any accidents but it makes you worry. The gray would have been better but at the time they were a hot item and the Copper colored CTS wouldn't sell for them and I love it and they gave me a better deal on it. I like the cream, it's just not a "wise " choice. I hear now they don't offer the copper color any more so it makes it a little more unique which I like. I love the way the engine sounds and how it revs through the close ratio automatic which on "sport" shifts nice and crisp, it rides great, the Bose stereo system sounds excellent to me, it handles the road well, a very comfortable car for me, and there's good room for adults in the back seat. The 3.2 v-6 has plenty of power for what I use the car for and gives me between 30-32 mpg on the highway 20+ in the city. The car stickered for 37,900 and I paid 34,500. It happened to be the only CTS they would give me a break on. The place down in Lumberton where I bought my 2500HD in late Feburary told me they were now selling them at invoice which should be a couple thousand off sticker. They only had them at Raliegh NC when I bought mine, now they're everywhere. If your interested you at least owe yourself a free test drive.
oh yeah, I do have a grip! If you use the cell phone service which comes as part of the "on-Star" package and use the voice dial, it can be a pain. I'm sure there may be a better way to set it up but I don't use it enough to know.

I've heard that about the onStar, I've also heard that when the subscription ends you can "Jimmy" with the GPS module and track the car from your computer???:Brow:

After 3 years with my 02 F-250 I think my kidney's are shot so I'm looking forward to a comfortable ride.

I'm a sucker for fat tires and gadgets!!

What program would you use to track??? I assume it just lets you punch in a GPS number and gets its location to display. I wonder how you do that on a computer???

I just drove one about a week ago.Simply awesome! The car has excellent power and rides and handles better than a Corvette. As a matter of fact,I'll take this car over a Corvette any day of the week.

What a car! This is one car that is perfect for annihilating those pesky BMW's or Mercedes-Benz's without working up a sweat.

    I'm impressed!!!!!:TU:

I had a dream last night of driving a Ferrari and woke up thinking how I could steal a million buck n buy one. Though a million sounds high. I believe it was an Enzo Ferrari.

    Think they give test drives?

There are some nice $40k low 20-30,000 miles ones on ebay. Well not Enzo's

The guy off the CTS board that details how to do the modification had the program....I think I may have already downloaded it. If I can find the website again:Brow: I'll post it.

    CTS V

Best overall performance car I have driven in years US or European. FAST and handles like a 4 door Corvette. It is a CTS on steroids. Traded in a 5 speed for this one. It is a blast to drive. John
