I have a 67 bu switch pitch tranny and your stage 1 and 2 kit. your instructions say to remove the second ring from the top of the center support. Is this the same as removing the direct clutch drum center seal?

    Rob,

Jim is on the road in route back to Texas. He had to drop one car and pick up another in Georgia. I will point him here, but I know he won't be back in the "office" till Tuesday. You might give him a call then at the shop. Hope this helps, just a little.

Rob, yes, it is the same thing. Just remember to plug the hole in the case next to the center support bolt if you do either of the above.
You can plug this hole with an 11 mm cup plug, or tap the case for a 1/8 inch pie plug ( this is what I am doing now) don't run the tap all the way though, just enough for the plug to go into the hole and not protrude to the inside of the case, or you can plug the small hole in the shift plate itself with a small finishing nail. Thanks Jim... I thought so, but was not sure about it. I'll use the 11mm plug you sent back when i bought the tranny stuff. i f i had thought of the pipe plug earlier, i would of done it. the case is already out for cleaning and should be back today (via good buddy connection)
