I have a nice used cam that I would like to use in my '71 455 block. Trouble/problem is I don't have the cam card that came with it? Anyway to degree this cam into the engine without it? It is not a stock cam. And so far I can't seem to come close to any numbers that I have found for any other cams, to match, (or just come close even) including stock ones. Thanks for any info/help you all may provide! Couch

Sure, you don't need the cam card, you just have to run through all the specs on both intake and exhaust, you can make your own cam card.
The specs you will want to record are:
intake .050 opening in degrees, max lobe lift, intake center line, intake closing point at ,050 lift, and all the same stuff on the exhaust side. With this info, you will have the data needed to decide if the cam needs to stay stright up, or be advanced or retarded.

I did this in the shop awhile back on a cam that the card got lost on, guys watching could not believe that in less than a few minutes, I had all the necessary data to degree the cam with . Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES
