I broke this cam/lifters in my high compression stock appearing engine and then sold the short block. This cam wasn't a good choice for the new owner (I talked him out of it, much different combination than what I had). The cam was ground by Steve Long, these are the KB lobes, he also ground cams for Poston. Cam has less than 20 miles. The lifters are Scorpion (Chevy, short travel), http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCC-SRP4114ST/. These have a carbide face and can be used on multiple camshafts, they are noisy though. Preload is set to a minimum (0.015" max). Here is what Scorpion says about them, http://www.scorpion-performance.info/lifters/. You will need longer push rods with these (9.350" included). Flat Tappet, hydraulic Cam Specs are: 240/260 on a 114 LSA, overlap = 22* IO = 10* BTDC, IC = 50* ABDC EO = 68* BBDC, EC = 12* ATDC (10+12 = 22, overlap) I paid, $220 cam, $145 lifters, $85 pushrods or $450, $275 or best offer. Prefer to deliver to BPG this w/e but will ship.
Hey Rob, interested, whats the lift on this cam and what kind of comp. is required for optimal performance.. thanks jerrold,
I'll have to look at the cam card at home, but from memory it is around .529"intake, .544" exhaust with a 1.6 rocker. Not sure what the optimum CR would be. If your car is light and you have a good converter, might be able to get away with it.
OK Rob, PM me the cam card lift numbers later, and we will go from there. This is close to what I use in my motor now... thanks again..
Jerrold, with a 1.6 rocker, the lift is 0.518 Intake, 0.554 exhaust. I've also attached the card itself.
Thanks Rob, I have to think about this one, thats one wide spread on the lift numbers, I"ll pass for now, if you have it after BPG, I"ll talk to you. thanks..
No problem, remember the exhaust always needs more help. With the grinder I chose for that cam there wasn't many lobes with that duration.
