Here's the story, ther was a 67 Skylark with a 430 in it sold in the area last year, and I heard through the local car guy grapevine that the guy wanted to get rid of the headers, being the only guy around here into buicks I finally tracked the guy down this is what I found:shock::ball: M/T super scavengers in four pieces. Guy could not get car up in the air, so he cut them:mad:
The only upside is he gave them to me, are they repairable, looks like someone pounded the collector for a-arm clearance.

    Thanks Mel

Hate to say it, but getting a good weld all the way around the tubes that are close together probably can't happen. Add to that the dents and it looks even more bleak.

Too much work and uncertainty to repair that stupid,I agree. What a shame.

    Mel,
I agree, a lot of work to fix to be "cost effective". However, I would be interested in them if you wanted to sell them. I have a project in mind!

    Let me know.

A little patience could put them back together. I say to take them with you and go talk to a good exhaust shop.

the hardest one to put back together would be the pass side one. cut too close to the collector and no room for a mig torch. a gas torch or tig maybe. the other header could easily be put back together.

some body pulling studs spot welded to the dents in the tube can pull it back close into shape if you don't want to change the pipes

UGG looking closer the flange is tweaked. it looks like he removed the headers with a crowbar. and the dented tubes look like they were twisted, not just dented.

Wouldnt bother with them, especially with the bent header flange.. You'll go through alot of gaskets unless you get it perfectly straight and planed level. Cheaper to go get a new set of headers.. (Not financially, but stress and labor wise.)

I'd probably just tack them together and use them as a garage wall ornament. They kind of remind me of the RAIV Judge I restored last year that had a set of old Hookers headers on it, which had been on it for probably 35 years. I couldn't get a wrench to turn the rusty bolts(very hard to get at) so I cut the headers off with a sawzall. They were in a lot more pieces than yours. The next time I talked to the owner I asked him if he had planned to keep the headers. He said yes. I told him "Well, you're gonna need a welder"

I could fix em. As far as the bent flange goes, a junk cylinder head and an oxy-acetylene torch is all you need.

I agree, Any custom exaust shop worth its salt should be able to fix those no problem.

Last year I had WAY more work done to a set of Pontiac headers for under $50.
