Any info on this carb would be greatly appreciated. Also what base plate is the correct one , or what ones are compatable. I'm using one with 041R stamped near rear bolt hole. It has the idle air bypass holes in it. I plugged all the vac ports in front and just use threaded for PCV or PVC and choke pulloff next to it. I'm using the 52m rods DX DR secondary rods with C hanger. I was using a 3 grove pump plunger.

I dont keep stamped code info on Quadrajets, as they are all over the board.
That is an 800 cfm 1976 Pontiac Quadrajet with hot air choke.

^ are the secondary's rods fir motor homes have slots near the tip . And what came different on a marine carb?

Early quadrajet secondary rods had slots near the tip. They were concerned that the rods would seal off the wells and the slots were cut to allow fuel to the wells. In a few years, the opening was a couple thousands larger and the slots were eliminated.

So the well s would have a ready supply of fuel . So any slotted rods don't really do much on later carbs with bigger hole. Were marine carbs tuned for open exaughst? Made to run richer.
I do have a fee pair of slotted sec rods, never tried them though
