I have a Holley 670 Street Avenger. I started the car up yesterday and when I step on the gas pedal, I hear a whistling sound. If I press the gas pedal hard, tha car stalls. It was running fine last time I started it up, so I don't know what the problem is. Could this be a vacuum or some other sort of leak. It seems that there's more air than fuel getting to the motor. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like a vacuum leak. Check the hose for the PCV valve for cracks. Carb mounting bolts for snugness. Anywhere there is a vacuum hose there is a potential for a leak. Spraying a little carb cleaner at gasket surfaces and on hoses can help finding a leak.

Thanks Larry. I did spray the carb cleaner around the base of the carb, and I didn't notice any change, so I believe the leak maybe somewhere else. I'll double check the hoses to see if maybe I missed a crack or tear in one of the hoses.
