carb

    can any one tell me what this carb is for,was on a 70 gs 455 i just got. 7042240. :Do No:

    If my brain is still working OK, it's a 72 carb from a 455 and auto trans. Could be Electra, Lesabre, GS or anything with a 455 that year.

    He is right and that is a good carb even though it is not correct number for a 70. It is 800 CFM where a 70 is 750 CFM. Just make sure it has 73 or better jets. 75 or up is even better. If someone used this carb with 70 style 68-69 jets it will be way to lean. Check before you beat the snot out of it!
