This auction is for an article, single page, on the Electra, LeSabre, Regal. This is a page out the a book called Sensational Cars of the 70's (I have it and love it). I got the book at Sam's club last year for $9.99...It's about 1-1/2 inches thick, covering all makes from 1970 to 1979. Talk about your profit margins uzzled:

If I had a scanner I would. The book is quite a lot of fun. One of my 4 year old twins loves the pink 1970 Duster..says she wants one when she starts driving :laugh:
I too have the book, but dont have a scanner that can scan in books. Its a great book to look over a view.
Hey, if one of ya'll don't mind can you tell me if it says anything about 1978 Mercury Monarch 2-door Ghias??
Gerig, It says, "A Ghia option gave the Monarch cast spoke wheels and paint stripes." Above that it said for the regular Monarch, "Monarchs earned a fresh front end, plus an available ESS option group for a European flavor." I also looked in 1977 and it stated, "Now equipped with a "Mod-4" four-speed maunal gearbox, Monarch edged past the XR-7 as top-selling Mercury." after that in 79' sales were laggin behind the new models introduced. So it doesn't say anything about a 2-door ghia. As far as I have found it is one of two produced and Ford doesn't know anything about it
No it didn't mention anything about a 2-door Ghia. And the picture was of a 4-door. Now that I look more in 1977 they show a 2-door Monarch. Right now im searching for a Mercury for my Uncle and asked Mercury/Ford about it and they said they have no record of producing it.
Gerig, Give me the VIN of that car, and I'll work it out for you. 38939 of the 2 drs models produced for model year 1978.
Thanx for looking for me :TU: . Yeah, they had the 2-door Ghia in '77. Here is a number you can call and they will send you a sheet that has some info on whatever model you ask. Call the Ford customer assistance line at (800) 392-3673 and request a "History 999" report for your car. In Canada, call (800) 565-3673 and ask for a build sheet.
yeah, I've already asked Ford and got the aformentioned history 999 report and the people on the Monarch/Granada/Versallis forum I'm in didn't find anything. I'll get the vin for you tomorrow if you want to give it a go. Thanx :TU:
