Carter AFB and Nailhead engine block #`s??

    I got a spare carb with my `66 GS and its a Carter AFB and the # on it is 4180S,does anyone know what year and model these came in?also spare block MR code what is this out of?

    Hello George,

    The MR code was used for the 400 CI in the 1966 GS

    325 HP and 10.25:1 compression ratio

    I'm not sure about that Carter carb, but I'll keep searching.

    MT = 1966 modelyear 401 CI, 325 HP and 10.25:1 comp ratio

    Used for the Wildcat, Electra and Riviera.

  7. It's from a 401 1966 automatic. I have a 1966 GS 401 Auto, but don't have the stock carb, it was replaced by an New 750 Edelbrock for the guy I purchased the car from. Unfortunately the Edelbrock is not properly set up /jetted,/tuned for my application.

    per the carb shop, they ref the carter #4180 as out of a 66 400 c.i.
