anyone know of any info with some tech n specs on 'em ? new/available ? had a couple guys ask me about redoing a couple of the carters at the Norwich show Saturday . one was for a nice sounding early 60's vette . oem carb I think from what he said . had some redone holleys and edelbrocks set out to sell so they were asking questions etc .
There's the book, 'Carter Carburetors' from SA Design. Federal Mogul had selection and tune-up guides on their site some years ago. A search on Google for 'Federal Mogul carb tuning guide' resulted in several sites that still have them online. This one has sereral from FM and Edelbrock: http://www.raylinrestoration.com/TechnicalPages/Carburetors/carburetorspecifications.htm
thanks walt , will check 'em out a little later . that SA designs book sounds familiar too , maybe I've seen that one at some point .
there's a Carter Carbs book that's been out for a while. "Super Tuning and Modifying Carter Carbs", it covers all 4bbl model of Carter (WCFB, AFB, AVS, and thermoquad), I think was originally published in 1983.
well i was thinkin of ordering a couple things needed from summit anyway so i checked : carter/edelbrock book , 176 pages , larry shepard , HP books says it covers AVS , AFB , TQ $16.95 - in stock seems like a decent reference at a fair price , in case anyone needs one . edit : also had a couple q-jet books , cliff's and one done by Roe . maybe get one of those also ?
