Cast Iron Intake for 455

    Ok, Here is the question...
    I need a new cast iron intake ( which I believe I can locate
    locally here in Oregon ) for my 70 GSX Stage 1. Do you Buick
    brothers know for sure if the 70 through 72's are all the same
    intake manifold ? I don't want to put on a incorrect year on my X.

    I think the exhaust crossover is different '72 on. The '72 is also egr equipped.

    Easy...

    GM#1231718 for all 70 455's, right on top of the manifold.:Smarty:

    70 is different from 71, 71 is diff from 72.....but they still should bolt up.:bglasses:

    Just went through that with our 70 GSX stage 1, 4 speed resto. Since most of these were made March through June of 1970 you will need not only need the 70 part number but also a cast number that predates your car's build date. So if yours was built say in April you would want a C or B month cast date which is right above the part number.

    I have a '70 cast iron intake if you can't find one. Don't know the casting #, but will check if you are interested.
