I shake earthquakes off, they never really harmed me or destroyed any of my property. They come and go so fast. people freak out, but some like me are whatever about it because of what i said earlier. I went to Kansas once and seen twisters on the way, while visiting a tornado test alarm went off in the city. I flipped out being on the 2nd story i ran and jumped down all the flight of stairs till i was in the basement. Every body was laughing at me because it was just a test but i am truly scared of hurricanes, tornados. I guess just watching katrina and what happened to the coast of japan just really makes me fell how we really are at Gods mercy or wrath.
Just took a trip up to NE Tenn to pick up my bumpers from Tri City. There was a 50-100 mile section on I 75 between Valdosta and Macon where trees were blown over onto the interstate and many bill boards were flattened. Mostly the type made of phone poles but a few of the big steel ones too. North or south of that area it was like nothing happened.
I guess that I REALLY lucked out on this one! Almost no damage : a few minor limbs; just more rain. And according to Jim's tracking maps, I was supposed to be dead center, but it shifted to the west of us by about 75-1oo miles. I don't know for certain, as I was unable to follow for a while due to the storm effects : power outage and fluctuations; Mostly due to my paranoia/ fear of what to be expecting based on others' stories about Hurricane Hazel in the 50's, Katina a few years ago, and Matthew in 16.
I went to the local Ship on Site store today to mail out some auto parts. It had a closed sign on the door. They still have no internet or phone service due to hurricane damage last week.
