cd memory

    this is been annoyinh me for ever now.. i cant seem to find a good wire for my memory wire in my cd player.. it works but i hate having to reset everything everytime i turn the damn car on. its a 71 skylark 350. does anybody have any thoughs on this?

    is there any place in the fuse box that it can be hooked up to and will work?

    What brand player is it? There should be a yellow wire that is constant. This is your memory wire. I believe on most models it is yellow. There is also a red wire which is switched power. Again, different color wires for different brands.

    it is a kenwood mpv7019. the red wire is ignition and the yellow wire is batery.

    Where is your yellow hooked up?

    my yellow is hooked up to the wiper fuse.. 20a.. and my red is hooked up to my radio fuse. 10a...

    Splice your yellow into the cigarette lighter and you will have power at all times to that wire - which is what you want.


    Red is fine where it's at.

    The reason you're losing your memory is because your wipers don't have power when the key is off. The cigarette lighter does:Brow:
