I have a new L.E.D. center mounted brake light and need a supplier of a electrical component that will allow me to have the center light to only come on when 12 volts is present on both left and right sides. I have one now but will not work with L.E.D. type lights because of the super low power draw (this one comes on low on L or R then bright if power is present in both sides, so I need one that would "bleed" power back because of the super low power draw. So e-mail your eletrical guys it you are puzzeled as I am, Thanks AL

    Al,

Sounds like to me that you are going to need to have a box made with either two transistors or two relays that will give you what you need.

Before you go and have a custom box made I bet there is something you could use from a late model car.

    Brake Light Problems

Mike, thanks for for you reply!!! :TU: The newer cars have a separate curcuit for this and I will probably do the same thing by running a line from the the brake switch and by passing the turn signal switch, AL.

i would think you would want it to come on when you are braking and not just when you are braking without a turn signal on.
if you want it to come on when you brake, the easiest solution would be to run a new wire (tapped off) from the brake switch to your LED "third light". then when you have blinkers on, the LED light wont be flashing or participating in the turn signal activities but will instead be on because you are braking.

    Brake Lights

Yuk, thanks for your post. As you posted is the way I'm to go. This is easer, going in front of the divider (4 ways/turn signals) and would work as I need. Thanks AL.
