    Greetings Fullsizers,

On the lookout for a centrelink for my 67 Wildcat with powersteering:

I do not believe they are making this part new anymore. Anyone know what years and models interchange? :Do No: Help much appreciated!

I'm thinking Electra and LeSabre in the range between 65 to 68? Not sure about LeSabre. If i'm correct this is based on another body/frame and might therefore be different on the front end.

    Lesabre is a no-go.

According to my parts book, center links (intermediate rods) for the following are common, GM #7811113:

    '67-'68 Wildcat/Electra (power steering)
    '68 Wildcat (manual steering)
    '67-'70 Riviera (power steering)

You'll find them on ebay now & then. I don't know if anyone is reproducing these.

    Thanks Devon,

I was not sure about LeSabre and glad you confirmed that.

There is a listing on ebay for a NOS LeSabre link at the moment for $150. I decided to check this out since i recently found that the Wildcat centre link i ordered a few years back for a spare is nowhere close to the actual part. :Dou: Bummer!

Now i need to both find myself a new and correct centre link and try to find out what the centre link i currently have is actually for. Perhaps this is a LeSabre type. I guess it is at least a Buick part. Other manufacturers did not use this type of centre link i have been told.

Fullsizers are not very popular in the parts industry i have feeling. The dinky toys are better liked somehow.

I ran the number on Parts Voice This company shows 22 in stock. Price is another issue...they know you need it!

    Thanks Bergy,

The listed $195 from their catalogue sheet is steep indeed. On the other hand they have the part in stock while it is becoming harder to find.

Like the devil is playing with it there is now a 67 Wildcat centrelink auction on ebay motors currently at $25! (will go up, i'm sure. There is another one at $300). This of course moments after i found a new source willing to send me a correct part for a reasonable price and shipping fee compared to other competition. Murphy's law in full. Just when you're done searching these things come dropping out of the sky.

    Cheers!

    Hi there...
I also need a center link for my 67 Riv with Powersteering as it is extremely worn out but I can't find it on the page
Searching for the part number I only find sth. for 525$ and it's called [FONT=Arial, Arial, Helvetica] 1967-1970;, INTERMEDIATE STEERING ROD;(CENTER LINK) NORS
Is that the part I need?

That is very likely the same part I mentioned in my post above.

  8. That price is absolutely ridiculous. Try Kanter. $195 plus shipping. Click here for the link.

By the way, these tend to go out every few years. I'm on my second in ten years. Heavy front end due to a 660lbs Big Block Buick engine.

    Cheers,
    Erik

    Thanx for the info!

I got a company here that is probably able to repair it-gonna take it there tomorrow-if they can't-Kanter will have a new customer...

    Hi Finallygot1,

On Ebay motors US there is a listing for a new TRW 67 drag link (other name for centre link) DS785 ending somewhere today or tomorrow currently listed at $50 (1bid). I've contacted the seller before and they want $64 for shipping Europe.

I've got a replacement myself (at a higher price, but lower than Kanter), but you might be interested in this one.

You should be able to find the listing when running "67 Wildcat" .

    Good luck!

  11. Wow! And they seem to have very good feedback. Going to watch that one. Learn something new every day. Thanks!
    HERE is the link.

And this will really fit my car?

Thought the ball joints are located in the inner holes on my car...
    And it says:

1 Drag Link WDS785 that will fit for: BUICK WILDCAT 1967-1968.
    BUICK ELECTRA 1967-1968.
    BUICK RIVIERA 1969-1970.

    Hi Finallygot1,

I am not an expert on Rivieras (not on Wildcat either by the way), but i have searched for these quite some time now.

The part numbers i found for 67 Riviera, Electra and Wildcat are DS785 and 25836. All the same for this year therefore. Le Sabre is DS730 and 25785. This info corresponds to what DaWildcat stated earlier.

The picture shown on the ebay ad more or less corresponds to a Wildcat centre link, with the ball joints on the ends and the two tapered holes to the inside. It however also shows a bit more curves than i remember. This leads me to believe this is a generic picture.

I would have tried to win this bid if i had not already found a replacement myself. The matching numbers for a Riviera would indicate it would be a good part for you. That's your call.

For anyone interested: This ebay listing is on it's third tour. Two earlier have sold for about $70 (Due to me bidding and losing. I've decided to not bid anymore, but make my own serviceable replacement from the old centre link). They seem to have more, so chances are there will be other listings if this one ends. Perhaps it is not a good idea to try and outbid one and another.

    Cheers!

  14. It ~should~, even though the ad says 69-70 Riv (we acknowledge yours is a '67) the same part should really fit all 67-70 Rivieras, per other online sources, including Kanter and Classic Buicks. If in doubt, you can always email the seller to verify, order one and if it shows up wrong, return it. At $70 not a giant risk (especially for you with the current exchange rate!:bla: ) Looks like they have a 15 day return policy.

    Thank you for the info...!
Just wrote them if they could also ship it to germany...
And yes-I was wrong...it looks like mine...
Just took a picture of it...

One more question...as the balljoint is worn out I need to have the centerlink and not the arm, right?
On my Nova I had the same problem but needed the p-arm so I just want to be sure not to buy the wrong thing...

    :gp:

Ok-I'm going to bid on it...so if anyone really needs it at once and wants it -no-matter-the-costs, please post it here so we won't outbid one another...by the way-they want 72$ to ship it to my place...:-(

Some SunnyMelonman from Germany won the auction. Guess that's you, Finallygot1? Congrats. Still cheap compared to others even including the shipping fee.

Now we wait for the next run on the part (if any)

    Yep...that's me...
I'm going to send that thing directly to T/A so that they can throw it into my already-390$-of-shipping-cost-big-exhaust-system-box and send it here next week...hope it will fit...
