I am rebuilding my engine (originally a 71) which now has 430 Stage 1 ported iron heads, and 10:1 compression and stock intake. I noticed that the 1970 used a 750 cfm carburator and the 71s used a 850 cfm carburator. Should I install a 750 cfm carb?

    Thanks,

    Rich

750 vs. 800, not 850. There is/was an Edelbrock Q-Jet clone that is advertised as an 850, but none of the Rochester/Carter Q-Jets were 850s.

If you had an 800, you should consider using it. If you don't have one, use what you have and see if it runs well enough for you.
