I am currently in the process of restoring the floor in my 66 skylark GS conv.

I have to weld in new rear floor pans, and also have some other spots here and there that needs to be taken care of..
Therefore Im thinking that maybe I should go all the way and change the whole floor with a fullpiece floor..
Do I have to take the body of to do this?
Is it hard to change the whole thing?
will it be easier to change the rustet spots?
Maybe I will have access to a 67 chevelle floor -does any of you guys know if it is identical to the skylark floor? will it fit?
Or should I go for a skylark floor?

I'd do the least replacement possible- looks to me like you're got a lot of perfectly sound steel there.

I've abstained because I've never done any metal work, but I agree with Chris. Why replace the whole thing if only a few sections are bad? Besides, I imagine it would be easier to patch than to get a whole pan seated correctly.

I would have to see some better pictures of the rusted out areas to get a better idea what you need to do. I cut the whole floor out in one big piece on my '65 GS and cut a good one out of a '66 Special and welded it in. The trick is you have to cut the braces out with it and just leave them spotwelded to the bottom of the floor pan.
If the only rusted through place is what is in the picture you attached, I would just buy an aftermarket pan for the pass. rear and put it in. The best quality ones I have found are from Mill Supply (they have a website). The ones from Year one and other places like that are too thin and poor quality. The ones from Mill Supply are the same gage metal as the factory floor and they fit perfect. If you have more questions, feel free to Email me at stonesautomotive@juno.com I have tons of pictures showing the process of changing the floor in my '65 GS.

    a couple of more pics..
my problem is that Im in Europe and can only get my hands on a chevelle 67
full floor for now - if I dont want to wait/pay a lot to have floor pieces sent over from the US...
does the 67 chevelle floor even fit my 66 skylark GS????
would it be crazy to cut out the pieces I need from the full floor wich has a price of 300 $ or should I try and make some patch panels myself?

The '67 Chevelle floor is the same and will fit fine. I would recommend getting it and cutting out that rear section that you need and leave the rest alone if it isn't rusted through. Like you said, it is probably cheaper to buy the whole Chevelle floor than to have a rear passenger side section shipped from the US.
