changing the top

  1. 68 buick wildcat convertible. Want to change the top so that you do not see the ribs throught the cloth,want it to look like a hard top when tops up. NE1 every seen this done to a convertible and how it cost for such a costume conversion

    It sounds like you want a custom removable hard top, like they had on some of the early year Corvettes.

    I do not see how you would do this while keeping the traditional bow support system in place. I do remember some years in which hardtop cars were made with padded roofs to look as if they had convertible tops. But that is a lot easier than what you intend. Perhaps you can go the other way, but you may spend more than the cost of purchasing a 68 Cat in the first place.

    I always thought a Carson top was lift only and not a folding top that you can carry with you.
