Anyone have a cheap rear sway bar for a 72 Lark? If so, please PM me. I would like to try a smaller rear bar, as mine is 1.5" thick !!
Check your local GM dealer. I believe these are still available new. Old part number to use: Gr. 7.241 # 394926 All '66-72 with HD susp. 7/8".
I have a new 1" rear bar on my 68 Sportwagon. It is from OPG. I want a bigger one. It is funny, this is my first wagon. On the 2 69 GS400's I have had 1" rear sway bars, and they were awesome. On the Sportwagon, with the 1" rear bar, it needs a tad more. I figure a Sportwagon has mass weight up high and in the rear. Does the sway bar you have bolt to the sides of the control arms? Or does it bolt to the bottom with an extra plate? PM me.
sway this way gmpartsdirect.com is where i got mine about $85 shipped.look it up for a chevelle,no mtg kit included though :af:
It bolts on like stock. It is a Herb Adams chrome moly bar. Very Heavy! I am not sure if I want to get rid of it yet, though, as I am just experimenting with smaller bars for now. Thanks!
Andrew, Since you are in Daytona, contact www.nationalpartsdepot.com and get one from them in their Ocala depot. They should have them in stock. Same price....$75-80
I know it's been a while, but do you still have the Herb Adams 1.5" rear sway bar? If so, do you want to sell it? Thanks! Cliff
