Are those gold velvet covered headrests?!

Man, I'm glad there are certain things that never came back from the 70's!

2 spoke sport wheel looks odd.

I think that's an optical illusion... All 3 spokes are indeed there!

    Kind of an electric gold.

Yeah, but in 20 years we will all be shaking our heads as to why we liked what we like today.

Okay. I just sprained my eyeballs ... I'm glad some things I was just too young to experience.

Yeah II, in twenty more years ... it'll be claimed to be the only gold GSX Sun Coupe in existence ... on eBay. Please, keep this board strong.

Yes, this car is still around. It belongs to Ed Toth of Toth Buick Akron Ohio. There was a swap meet last Sunday at Toth and I asked Ed where the 72 Sun Coupe was and he said he had it stored away. He called it the Liberace mobile. Very unique car.

Unique is right. I think I'll lay off the thumbs and pics. I don't think my sunglasses have that much UV protection. Nice car though...

Is that a factory custom job for display or is that at a custom car show?

Factory custom job. I guess you could call it the Sun Coupe "Prototype".

It would be nice if the eBay negative could be re-united w/ the current owner of the same car. Does the current owner know about this eBay auction?

Also, is there a thread that previously discusses this car or its history?

Okay, I've been waiting for a chance to ask this question, but it seems appropriate here & now. Is there info in this discussion board about what appear to be a factory (pre-production) 1972 GS Stage 1 Sun Coupe that was tested by some car magazines (media or test pool car) circa late '71? I have some apparent period photos clearly showing the fabric sunroof sans Sun Coupe sail panel badges, but with all the Stage 1 goodies and badges. I will have to dig out photos of it, but I recall it being from an issue of CARS Magazine (I believe). I think the car had a full vinyl roof covering instead of the 1/2 vinyl roof of the production Sun Coupes.

Wait, I remember I have 2 different magazines that show what I think is the same car. I remember there were rear-seat shoulder seat belts in one of the photos and they appear to be the exact same car.
