Though I havent anted up the courage to dole out the $400 bucks (here in Canada), I checked out the iPod at Best Buy today. What a cool device! The mini will hold up to 1000 songs and it's about the size of a small cigarette package. The full sized model will hold 20000 songs! I thing I will end up buying the mini as it will take me a while to fill it up with 1000 songs. There is also a nice little FM transmitter for $59 that plugs on top of the iPod. With this you can then take it into your car and play it over your FM radio. Imagine, listening to all your favorite tunes on your factory fm radio! Range is 22 feet and it runs off the iPods' battery (which lasts 8 hours per charge).I also checked out the Bose speaker dock and I was impressed with the sound quality. Of course, if you had the fm transmitter you could play your songs on your home system. I was going to buy a FM modulated CD changer for my truck, but I think I'll go for the iPod with the transmitter-that way I can play my songs in ANY car or on ANY home system as well as take it to the gym.
