Hello,......to check an engine to see if it is "numbers matching", the engine number must be the same as the vehicle's id number,..correct? Where would the engine number be on a 401 engine on a 65 GS? Will that tell me if it is the original engine for that car? Will the battery be on the right side of the fan shroud?
