Is there an online source to check availability of GM part numbers dating back to 1966? A PN history would be helpfull....so I know if items were deleted, or replaced with new numbers.
I do have some GM dealer price books, but they're from 1988....do GM dealers still use these books, or is it all computerized now?
    Thanks!

I have a 66 Buick parts book, so I have the part numbers (thanks anyway!)....I was specificly looking for hardware, seals and rubber boots I need for a 4 speed install. Out of the 30-some part numbers, all but 3 numbers were discontinued or changed as of 1988. That doesn't surprise me. But a check in the Year One catalog shows many of these same items as being 'new from GM'.....so I thought they just replaced the old '66 part numbers. I was hoping to bypass the middleman, and the $$, by getting the parts straight from GM (or e-bay). That's difficult without the new numbers.
The most critical item I need is the ball pivot stud for the z-bar, which mounts in the frame bracket. PN is 382661.....I might be able to use a Chev piece, but it's a larger 3/8 dia, PN 3898610. Anybody have part numbers for '66 Pontiac or Olds?

    Thanks!

Soooo... Buick and Olds use the same pivot stud....which has been discontinued. :ball:
Would you happen to know which one the later A-bodies use?

And Scott forewarded me this info:

    >>I use GM parts Direct for looking up some part numbers.

    >>http//www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm

It's just what we need to check numbers. If only it would lookup numbers too!
